Covid-19 Plan

Thank you for planning to visit the Carousel of Happiness. We have implemented a few changes to our operations during the pandemic, which are outlined below. We hope you enjoy your visit!

One-way Traffic Flow

A new, one-way traffic flow has been established for the protection of visitors and staff alike. After purchasing your tickets outside at our ticket window, you will be directed to our back patio, where you will be called to enter the Carousel house when it is your turn.

Limit on Gatherings

The statewide limit on gatherings is currently set at 10 people, so we must restrict entry to 9 visitors plus our operator at one time. After riding the carousel, you will exit through the gift shop to allow the next set of riders to enter the Carousel.

Social Distancing

Groups of riders from different households are encouraged to keep a 6-foot social distance while waiting in line and while riding the carousel. This can easily be accomplished by leaving a row of animals empty between riders from another household.

Gift Shop

We have implemented changes to our gift shop to encourage social distancing. Most merchandise has been placed behind the counter to limit handling of items. Our staff will be happy to assist you in making your selections.

Everyone 3 and up is required to wear a facemask to enter, by order of Boulder County Public Health. If you forget your mask, don’t worry. Disposable masks for both children and adults are available at the ticker counter for a nominal fee.

Cleaning and Sanitizing

Additional cleaning and sanitizing will be done throughout the Carousel facility for the protection of visitors, with the Carousel animals and other high-touch surfaces being sanitized every two hours. Riders will be provided with hand sanitizer before and after riding, and sanitizer will be available in the gift shop as well.

Employee Health

Employee health will be monitored with daily temperature checks. Employees will wear masks at all times, wash their hands often and practice social distancing from others.

Puppet Theatre, Party Room, Story Catcher

Unfortunately, our second-floor puppet theater and party room are off limits to visitors at this time. The Story Catcher recording booth will be accessible by appointment only.
